What exactly do we do at Camp Atta Girl!
Whether a one-day or an overnight camp, the days are fun and experiential, where we give you tools and practices to help you thrive. We show you how to tap into and use your inner strengths, help you answer questions that will lead you to your purpose, give you easy-to-use tools to help you meet your goals, find your best future self and more. All of this is connected to the research and the science behind positive psychology and happiness. Think of these as fun "Happiness 101" retreats.
We also connect the tools to music, movement and the energy centers of the Chakras, through the joyful practice of Let Your Yoga Dance. You'll tap into that free-spirited woman deep inside you through this wonderful combination of science and "woo-woo."
Camp Atta Girl! is a place to reunite with that playful, happy girl.

What should I wear?
While we'll be inside, wear what you would to camp. It’s casual and comfortable. Wear shoes you can "dance" in. Or, you can take off your shoes for the times we move.
Do I need to bring anything?
Depends on the camp. For day camps, just your fun playful soul! For overnight camps, when you register, you'll be sent what additional items you need to bring, if any.
Do people come alone or with other women?
Both. Some will come on their own, some may come with a friend, a sister, a mom, a daughter. All are welcome and will feel at home. (Note: this is a retreat for women - ages 21 and older.)

Who are the camps for?
This is for every woman. Whether you work in an office, classroom or work at home (actually every woman works all the time and everywhere, so this is silly to say), no matter what your age, no matter what your shape, no matter where you are in your stage of life, this is for you. If you're going through a transition, it will give you tools to help find your strength and courage. If you're already happy, it will give you tools to be happier and find more joy.
Is this camp outdoors?
This is an indoor camp. We call this a camp because it’s a fun, campy adventure for your soul. We also hold them in fun, campy locations... not a stuffy hotel meeting room. Although, I bet we could make even a hotel meeting room fun and campy!
What is Let Your Yoga Dance?
Let Your Yoga Dance is a practice that allows you to explore playful expressive movements that lift the spirit, raise self awareness, and invoke joy. It takes yoga off the mat. It combines yoga, the breath, and user-friendly movement and dance with fabulous music from around the world. This practice is also a journey into the energy centers of the body, the chakras.
There's science behind happiness?
Yep! The science of happiness is the research and study of the strengths that enable people to thrive. The field is founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to grow what is best within themselves, and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play. This research is being done at Harvard, Yale and other institutions around the world and there are science-proven ways to increase your happiness. Camp Atta Girl focuses on the tools of this science that relate to your power, your voice, your self-love and your joy... then uniquely connects it with those chakras.
What are Chakras?
Chakras are simply the energy centers of your body. Seven chakras are positioned throughout your body, from the base of your spine to the crown of your head. Each chakra has its own vibrational frequency, color, and governs specific functions that help make you who you are. Let Your Yoga Dance takes you through these energy centers, with music that matches each vibration and helps your spirit fly!
I've never done Yoga. Will I be able to Let Your Yoga Dance?
Yes. Everyone can do this, no yoga or dance experience is required. The key part of Let Your Yoga Dance is the word “your.” There’s no right or wrong way, only "your" way. Any level of physical ability can do this. ANY body can do it. You can even do it from a chair — many do. Or if you don't want to move at all, just listening to the music and how it connects to each energy center will bring you joy.
One final note...
There's a wonderful quote that says, "Life begins outside of your comfort zone." We mention this because sometimes people might get a little uncomfortable with dance and movement. For some, the thought of doing anything with strangers can be terrifying, let alone move and dance.
But we make both our day camps and sleepover camps fun and safe places. There’s no judgment, no need to be like anyone else. You can do as little or as much of it as you'd like. Actually, if the idea makes you feel uncomfortable, you may benefit the most out of this. But step out only as far as you want! The entire focus of this day is for you to be who you are. You do you. Atta girl! ;-)
